Setting the scene, three spikes !
Initially the spikes seemed to mature at the same rate. Would the three clusters come into bloom at the same time? No, already visible in the picture above, one of them started to pull ahead. This was really getting exciting, I was watering and watching....
The show started on Tuesday morning when the first group of eight flowers opened up, and today, Friday, the second cluster of eight followed. Knowing that the life span of these pretty and fragrant flowers is only three days, I took lots of pictures today. A very enjoyable display!!
I would expect the third cluster to open up three to four  days from now. And there is actually a fourth one waiting in the wings, about three weeks away. Perhaps this is the happy result of a relatively wet and not too hot summer this year? And lots of "Peters"!
